The above graph shows the reduction of sulphur dioxide (SO2) emissions versus the amount of sulphur burned on a monthly basis for 2009. In March 2009 a tail gas scrubber was installed, which resulted in a significant decrease of SO2 emissions.

The above graph shows SO2 emissions decreasing over the past 20 years. Emission reductions in 1994, 2002 and 2009 are due to process changes.
